I was very fortunate to have Amina as my nurse numerous times during my stay at at UT Health Rehabilitation. On the very first day she was nurse, and without my knowledge, she advocated for me with the doctors about my pain management. Of course once I learned that I was truly grateful. I was a in pretty significant vehicle wreck and my injuries were significant. The injuries ranged from my head, to ribs, to having to have one of hips replaced. Each time Amina was nurse she treated me with the upmost care and spoke to me with honesty but also with encouraging words.

Over my stay there, I was always happy to have her as my nurse because it lifted my spirits just a bit because I felt I had someone in my corner. The facility is over an hour and a half away from my home and my family lives over 5 hours away. Knowing you have someone like Amina there who is in your corner really keeps not only your spirits up, but also your motivation.

Even on the days Amina worked and was not my nurse, she always would smile when she saw me and would take the time to ask me how I was doing. While in my professional life I am far removed from the medical industry, I do know people and customer service very well. Staff members like Amina are what set a company apart from others. When I was being cared for by Amina I never felt like she was rushing to leave even though I know she had numerous other patients. I felt like I had her attention and care 100%. I do know that some will or could say she was only doing her job, and while she was, I would disagree to an extent. She was going above and beyond to ensure that not only was I taken care of physically but also mentally.

Every staff member at the facility are top notch and deserve recognition but Amina really stands out to me. If I am ever in a hospital again I truly hope they are as her. Every patient deserves a nurse like Amina watching over them.
