I have been very fortunate to work with Amirah Walker for 10 years. She is professional, extraordinarily compassionate, and one of the most generous people I have had the chance to work with. Amirah is a true patient advocate and often goes out of her way to make sure that her patients receive the care they deserve. Amirah's courage empowers her to always do the right thing for her patients, often speaking up for them when they have concerns or personal issues. She is always willing to do things differently if the original plan does not work. Integrity is also one of Amirah’s finest qualities, which is shown by her dependability, loyalty, honesty, and respect that she shows to her patients and coworkers. There have been many times that Amirah has gone out of her way to assist patients in need. She has been known to purchase meals for patients if they mentioned that they were in need or could not afford it. She has purchased clothing and shoes for patients, not expecting anything in return, just because she saw they were in need. Patients love her and are always happy to have her as their nurse. I am extremely lucky to be working with this courageous, compassionate, professional, and hardworking nurse. She is the example of what all nurses strive to be.
