it’s our honor in ICU SKGH to have such a star between us, thanks from the heart.
This was a very busy day and an extraordinary shift where 3 patients had deteriorated and required urgent intubation, 6 had new CVC line changes, 2 required ICD insertion one re-intubated, and 2 required new CVVH lines. I was proud to hear from the physician who also had done all those procedures alone with Mr. Amjad how much he appreciated his approach and his compassion with all ICU patients. Amjad was patient, cooperative very optimistic and he showed a great example of teamwork and adaptability by his caring of his assigned patients and almost all other patients in the ICU that day. He showed a high level of professionalism. No one felt how that shift had passed with no complaints, no deficiency, and all patients were good. None of Amjad's colleagues that shift struggled with any procedure. He was a great support and resource for all of them starting with the non-experienced to the well-experienced ones. If this letter reached Amjad, I want to tell him it’s our honor in ICU SKGH to have such a star between us, thanks from the heart. What has been said is also true, Nurses go into their work area as if they are going into battle. If they are lucky, they emerge unscathed, but more often than not, nurses carry emotional and physical “battle scars”. Moments like this truly highlight what an extraordinary nurse Amjad Younis is.
