Amrita is a true leader who leads with compassion, courage, and integrity.
"A true leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way”. This describes Amrita perfectly. She is a strong and caring leader who consistently supports her staff and prioritizes patient safety.
I remember a case with a diabetic antepartum patient who had uncontrolled blood sugar for several days in the hospital. Despite our requests, no specialist was consulted. When I told Amrita about the situation, she acted immediately. Within 2 hours, the patient was seen by a Maternal-Fetal medicine physician and a dietitian, and her condition improved quickly. The patient was safely discharged the next day.
Amrita always ensures our concerns are heard, and she never hesitates to step in when patients require better care. Her patience gives us confidence as nurses because we know she will always stand for our patients and us.
Amrita’s care goes beyond her role as a leader. She also shows deep compassion for her staff. A few months ago, I had a heart attack and was admitted to a local hospital, where my diagnosis was unclear. When Amrita found out, she personally arranged for me to be transferred to Columbia Hospital, found a Physician to accept me, and even made sure transportation was arranged in the middle of the night. She called me every day to check on my progress and make sure I was safe.
I am only a regular floor nurse, yet she cared for me like family. Because of her, I received the proper treatment and was given a second chance at life. My family and I will always be thankful.
Amrita is a true leader who leads with compassion, courage, and integrity. She is not only respected but also deeply loved by her team for the kindness and fairness with which she treats everyone.
