January 2019 Honoree
amy armbruster, RN, BSN, CFRN, CCRN
Amy transported A and her mother from Alamogordo to UNMH. A is an 11-year-old girl with an aggressive form of osteosarcoma. She has already received an amputation, and her diagnosis is terminal. Amy developed a connection with A and while in the hospital at UNMH Amy would go and check on A and her family.
Amy took it upon herself to rally the lifeguard elves and adopt A and her family. Because of Amy's selfless efforts and the generosity of our LG team, Amy collected $875 to provide gifts to A and her family.
Amy and the crew went to Alamogordo to deliver the gifts! While A has a devastating diagnosis, Amy went above and beyond to spread, kindness, joy, and exhibit the qualities of a DAISY Nurse.
I am humbled and beyond grateful for the work of my teams on a daily basis; Amy took it a step further and helped provide joy during a very challenging time.
