Mrs. Amy Belcher is truly an outstanding nurse, who goes above and beyond for her patients! My mother has been in the hospital battling kidney failure among other health issues. Out of all the nurses my mother has had during her hospital stay, Mrs. Belcher has without a doubt been the greatest blessing. With covid restrictions limiting visitors to patients in the hospital, it is easy to feel helpless when you can’t always be there to advocate for your loved one. The moment Mrs. Belcher stepped into my mother's hospital room as her nurse, that worry of feeling helpless went away. With her, I finally felt heard, and most importantly so does my mother. All of my concerns about my mother's care were finally answered and addressed. I no longer have to repeatedly call for updates when I am not able to be there and hope that someone returns my call because Mrs. Belcher has made sure to let me know how my mom is doing with no detail left unsaid. She has cared for and advocated for my mom as if she were her own family. Even after her shift is over she still would come to check on my mom to see if she needed anything before she left. I’ve never met anyone in healthcare who is so passionate about what they do, the care of their patients, and the concerns of the patients' families. Even in the middle of a pandemic when nurses are exhausted, Mrs. Belcher still shows up and gives 110% every day. I truly can not think of anyone more deserving of this recognition and award than her!
