Nikki took the store employee in her own private vehicle and drove her to the ED.
Nikki was off shift shopping in a local retail store and saw a store employee that looked extremely ill. Nikki voiced she was a nurse and recommended the employee go to the Emergency Department for evaluation. The employee had been sick for weeks but kept pushing on because she had to work to make ends meet. Nikki realized if she did not help, the employee would keep putting off coming to the doctor. This RN took the store employee in her own private vehicle and drove her to the ED. She was concerned and did not want the store employee to wait any longer! The employee ended up having severe streptococcal pneumonia involving the entire lobe of her lung. She was admitted for antibiotics and is slowly improving.
