Amy Brewer takes her role as patient advocate and caregiver seriously. She always gives her patients excellent care and compassion. She never rushes patients out of recovery and always takes time to make sure the patient is ready and safe to leave the recovery room for inpatient or home. She takes time with her patients to create a bond and a relationship.
Amy excels in the area of taking care of her coworkers. Amy works every Friday and that is usually our busy day that has the least amount of staff. She started the "Friday funk it up dance" at 7 am to get us happy and motivated for our busy day. It has now become a tradition and the nurses in the OR and preop have joined in and the nurses get excited about being here for the dancing. Dr. H said he would schedule cases on Friday morning just to be witness to such fun! It is a super morale booster and we love it. She buys us treats on these busy days when we are dragging and getting grumpy. RBC is about caring for patients and coworkers and Amy excels at both.
