Amy Campbell was one of the main nurses who took care of our daughter in Level 2. She was one of the most knowledgeable women we encountered, plus she was able to make us understand exactly what was going on. She helped me calm down when my hormones were going crazy but didn't make me feel stupid that it was happening.
Our daughter required straight cathing at the beginning of our stay and possibly later, so Amy taught both of us how to do it. She was the perfect teacher because she was very considerate of our feelings but firm enough with us to make us do it. She is a person that is very easy to talk to and joke around with, which made that process easier. Later when our daughter was moved up to Level 4, for several days, she came by to check on her multiple times, which meant the world to us. In all honesty, every person we have dealt with at Texas Children's Hospital has been very nice and knowledgeable, but she is one of the few that I will remember by name for the rest of my life. She very much deserves this award.
