Amy went out of her way to make me comfortable. Amy was very caring and helpful.

Recently, I was a patient in this unit. I cannot express enough the top-notch care I received from your unit and specifically my nurse. Being part of healthcare, I could acutely sense the unit was exceptionally busy during my stay. I also think there were far more ill patient than I was, but Amy did not miss a beat all day. Amy spent time explaining to my family (who has no medical knowledge) and me the plan of care, what to expect, and detailed the medications ordered and side effects with patience and graciousness. She went far and above the call of duty, even staying later than her shift to ensure I had an earlier discharge and thoroughly reviewed discharge instructions. Amy even called me two days later to see how I was and reviewed my discharge instructions again. Amy exemplifies nursing care and PRIDE behaviors. Her professionalism, sincere kindness, and caring are what makes me proud to be part of this organization. Amy is an extraordinary nurse and well deserving of this award. I am truly grateful to have had her as my nurse.
***
In my opinion, Amy has performed beyond the call of duty in all areas of nursing skills. One could not ask for a better nurse. I am thankful that I had this beautiful person to take care of me. I will never forget you.
***
It is never a specific situation that demonstrates excellent nursing care, rather an overall "persona" that this nurse will stop at nothing, overlook anything, and not know exactly what she is doing at all times. Amy was always thinking, planning, and executing a step ahead. This is what real nursing is all about. Her compassion and concern, as well as her ministrations, were almost palpable.
***
Amy is sunshine on a miserable day. She is an instant friend, a helping hand, smiling and comforting your aching soul, understanding and listening with passion. She made my day to give my ill husband a shower so that I may have free time to rest a few minutes with a cup of coffee. Amy is a jewel.
***
Amy is always nice and understanding. She explained things to me where I could understand, and was very pleasant and kind. I was going to sign myself out of the hospital until I spoke to her. She saved my life. Thank you for everything you did for me.
