Having left the hospital after her 12 hour shift, Amy was still thinking about her patients. My husband was admitted to the hospital due to severe chest pain and fast heart rate, but little attention was focused on a "spider bite" my husband had. After a complete cardiac work-up and everything seeming normal, the chest pain was still a mystery. However, after having time to think about it, Amy called her relief nurse and asked her to look at the "spider bite". Together, they decided to ask the doctor to take a closer look and he determined that instead of a "spider bite", he had an infection. Currently, he is being treated for it.
