July 2026 Honoree
Amy Craft, RN-BSN
It is always a great shift when I see Amy and me working together. She has a fun, bubbly personality, and she truly cares while exemplifying Kootenai Health's mission to improve patient health in a friendly, professional, and culturally appropriate way. Amy looks out for both her patients and her colleagues. She consistently offers a helping hand, whether it is for wound care, turning teams, a boost up in bed, or even just emotional support. She likes to share a joke; she sees the silver lining to most dark clouds.
When I think of the DAISY Award, I think of Amy- a nurse, colleague, and friend who is always going above and beyond to help others. Pretty recently, Amy had a patient for whom something just didn't quite seem right. When she assessed the patient, Amy voiced concerns about how she was presenting and how things just didn't make much sense. She talked it over with another nurse but didn't stop there. She knew something was up, even though she couldn't quite put her finger on it. She advocated really hard for this patient, and as a result, she received the care that she needed. She got upgraded to the PCU. Advocating for patients comes naturally to Amy. Amy has advocated for patients many times, and as a result, they received the care, time, and commitment they needed to get better. Amy truly lives the Kootenai Health Way- providing safe, compassionate care that engages the patient and their families. I am glad to work alongside such an amazing nurse and call her a friend.

Thank you, Amy, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
