Amy Daley, BSN, RN

I would like to nominate Nurse Amy in the ICU. Amy was my mom's nurse during the night shift. Amy allowed us to have more people in the room because she knew how dire the situation was with my mom. Amy showed love and compassion to my mother, "L." It was incredibly special. All of the ICU nurses Mom encountered were awesome, but Amy's compassion and love for her job really stood out to my family and me. At one point, when things were getting bad for Mom, Amy brought a cart of coffee, water, apples, and light snacks to us because she felt like we needed a break. She knew we did not want to leave Mom. When Mom was having percussion treatment done, Amy danced alongside Mom's bed and sang to help my mom smile and make the treatment seem a little less annoying. I know I sure needed the smile that day, and Amy was what our family needed. Thank you, Amy, and to all of the nurses in ICU for allowing our family to spend Mom's last couple of days together, just as my mom would have wanted. You all provided us with the comfort we needed, but Amy made it possible for us all to be together for my mom.
