Every time you work with her, you know you have someone out there who truly cares and will help no matter what.
Amy is amazing. She never hesitates to step in and take care of things we need in our Holding Department. Even if it is not her specific role, she will contact who we need and help get things done. Today in our lab, Amy was the APRN for our entire holding. When our patient came up from procedure, she was right there, ready to check on them and see what happened during the procedure, so she was on top of our discharge for the patient. One patient was having pain and was very uncomfortable and restless. As another nurse and I were giving him medicine, Amy was on top of contacting the doctor immediately, getting an EKG, and then physically running the EKG downstairs to the Cath lab when it appeared it may be a possible STEMI. She ran back up and continued to get the patient to the lab. After the procedure was done the second time, Amy was on top of updating me, the primary nurse, and making sure the family made it to the ICU waiting room so they didn't get lost in transit. She always goes above and beyond. Every time you work with her, you know you have someone out there who truly cares and will help no matter what. She never acts frustrated towards us and always gets back to us - no matter how many times we have to reach out. She is always on top of discharges, and has them done in advance of DC time so that patients don't have to wait. She orders home meds as soon as she knows they are extended recovery, we don't even have to ask. Her orders always contain DC time, which is something we usually have to reach out and find out or bother the doctor for. With Amy, everything is taken care from the start. Without Amy’s quick actions this patient would have continued to decline before being able to get him back into the Cath lab. Amy’s swift actions were impressive and very appreciated.
