Amy educates with her heart.
As the Educator at Canadian Valley Hospital, Amy is truly the backbone of nursing education and support within our facility. She works tirelessly behind the scenes, setting up Skills Days that are not only well-organized but engaging and meaningful. She ensures every nurse is prepared, confident, and supported in their role, whether they are just beginning their career or are seasoned professionals.
Amy is constantly present, rounding one-on-one with staff, answering questions, and providing thoughtful, knowledgeable guidance. She leads in-services on the units, facilitates Code Blue drills to sharpen our emergency response skills, and ensures our American Red Cross mannequins and training tools are always up to date and ready for use.
During system or workflow go-lives, Amy is right there on the front lines – ensuring every staff member feels informed, supported, and capable. She anticipates needs before they arise and works proactively to ensure a smooth and successful transition for everyone involved. What makes Amy truly exceptional is not just what she does, but how she does it. Amy educates with her heart.
You can feel her passion in every educational interaction. She gives 100% of herself in everything she does – not because she has to, but because she genuinely cares. She brings a warm smile, a calm presence, and a positive attitude to every interaction. Her work ethic is unmatched – she shows up early, stays late, and never hesitates to lend a helping hand whenever needed.
No matter how busy her day is, she always takes time to encourage, educate, and uplift those around her. Amy makes each of us better, and she strengthens our team in ways that are lasting and meaningful. Amy is more than an educator – she is a mentor, a role model, and a true embodiment of compassion and excellence in nursing. Her presence is a gift to our hospital, and her impact is felt in every unit, every shift, and every nurse she supports. She is a quiet hero behind the scenes, and it’s time she is celebrated for all the ways she makes a difference.
