Amy Evans, BSN, RN
Amy is one of the oldest nurses (she is 84 years young) running around TGH and she has a wealth of experience and knowledge. She loves ostomies and producing solutions for difficult/leaking appliances. She teaches residents, doctors, nurses, and patients!
Amy came by to check on a skin issue I had below my stomach. She was so kind and demonstrated concern. She went into fix-it mode and identified what could be causing the issue or making it worse and a way to try to get the wound to heal. After changing the wafer to one that is appropriate for my stomach, she ensured that I could get whatever was needed to continue using it at home.
Amy did not stop there; she came by two days later with more wafers and other items so that I could change the one that I had on. She checked the wound and provided more information on how to properly care for it. Lastly, she showed up today with another option she found that will help the wound heal. That was going above and beyond. The kindness and commitment have blown my mind. She is truly a gem. Thank you, Amy!
