She was once again my nurse for surgery, and she was a sign to me that surgery was going to be okay.
Amy is a nurse I will never forget, and I think of them often. Three years ago, I needed an emergency c-section, and she held my hand and gave me comfort with her own story when I was refusing to go to the OR; she held my hand in the OR, too, during the scariest part when they were doing CPR on my daughter. I hadn't forgotten her for her kindness. Now, I had another urgent c-section just last week for my twins. She walked in into my pre-op room, and I started bawling my eyes out. I immediately knew who she was. She made my whole day by showing up; we cried and talked about everything. She was once again my nurse for surgery, and she was a sign to me that surgery was going to be okay. She took me to see my twins after surgery and even came and checked on me the next day in my room. She was able to see my 3-year-old, the one she helped me go into surgery to have. She is literally the best and most compassionate nurse I've met at Kootenai, and she made once again a scary situation so calming for me.
