I had hernia surgery. I am 48 years old, and this was the first surgery I’d ever had. I spent the weeks leading up to the procedure a nervous wreck. The closer it got to the surgery date, the more nervous I was. On the day of the event, Amy took me back to get ready. She could tell I was nervous even before I told her. Her kindness and love for her job truly shone through. She talked about other things to get me distracted for a bit. When we talked about the surgery, she made me feel comfortable.

Amy has a gift, and you can really tell she loves her profession. She made a promise to my wife that she would be brought back to see me before I was taken to the OR, and she kept that promise.

I hope Amy knows she helped someone who had been a nervous mess for weeks and weeks feel so much better. Kettering Health Washington Township is so lucky to have Amy as a nurse.
