Amy Haugland is a special nurse to me because of her commitment to helping others on or off the clock. Amy went above and beyond to help not only a patient but a neighbor! While I was a patient at Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion, Amy went out of her way to acknowledge me and my husband with thoughtful gestures that made a lasting impression on us. But the best example of a nurse to us came two days later. I began to have some problems during recovery at home so with some hesitation (because I didn't want to bother) I contacted my neighbor, Amy Haugland. Without any hesitation, she left her family and warm home to walk down the street to my home to see if she could help. She advised me to go to the emergency department and even called the ER to let them know I was coming in to be checked by a doctor. Amy's excellent nursing made a big difference in my outcome! Forever grateful to have such a wonderful nurse in our community and hospital! Thank you, Amy!
