Amy cared for a patient who was at the end of life. His family was having a hard time coming to terms with this and his daughter was set to get married in the next few months. The patient wanted to be able to see his daughter get married before he passed away.
In order to facilitate this Amy went above and beyond to coordinate a wedding. She advocated utilizing the healing garden, coordinated decorations, flowers, music, and a pastor. The biggest obstacle was getting the patient to the healing garden as he was on a large amount of oxygen. She brought the patient down in his bed to the healing garden with backup oxygen and the patient was able to watch his daughter get married as well as her first dance. It was a beautiful and emotional ceremony and will forever impact the family of this patient. Amy is an amazing nurse and patient advocate and does not take no for an answer. We are lucky to have her a part of the CIC Team.
