I commend Amy for the extraordinary care she provided and have tremendous respect for her. While off duty, she responded to a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian and a vehicle. She could have simply called 911 and driven away after a long shift but instead, she chose to use her life-saving skills one more time that day. This truly highlights her integrity.

I was initially concerned about Amy considering how much a traumatic event can affect you over the following days and beyond, however, those concerns quickly subsided as I saw a confident nurse gathering information for bedside shift report with a smile on her face.

As the shift progressed, Amy did not miss a beat. She kept asking me if I needed anything and was always available to talk.  Amy also showed me great compassion and care following my surgery. Thank you, Amy, from the bottom of my heart. You are a true medical professional.
