I was to have a podiatry consult but a day went by and there was no podiatrist for the affected area of my right foot. The next day, Amy was my nurse. I told her that I had not seen a podiatrist, I expected to have surgery the next day but now there was a delay in care. Amy took this situation on by investigating and the consult was done by 6:30 that evening. I had surgery the next afternoon and a few days later, Amy was my nurse again as I headed for kidney failure. She tracked and trended my lab results and notified the hospitalist. Her attention to detail saved me from further kidney damage. At discharge, my kidney function was back to my baseline. God bless Amy.
