Amy was my nurse during my c-section and I am so very thankful she was! She made me feel calm and at ease leading up to the surgery. She understood all of my concerns and helped me to mentally prepare for the c-section. Having had a c-section herself, I felt she was more than prepared/equipped to answer any and all questions and suppress my anxiety and fears in a relatable and caring way! She was an answer to my prayers!!! Having her there made the process so much more bearable and gave me more confidence overall!! She was present during the c-section and spinal shot. She held my hand and coached me anytime my husband was with our baby or unable to be in the room. She spoke to me from across the room during the surgery just reassuring me that things were going well and that I was strong and capable. She truly eased my mind. This is not to say the entire team wasn’t amazing, because they were all rock stars!  Amy went above and beyond before, during, and after to make me feel empowered and comfortable! She put me at ease. She advocated for my needs the entire time. She prioritized my pain and any other concerns I had so effectively! She told my husband and me on several occasions that if we had issues (with anything: nurses, doctors, etc) to let her know and she would speak up and handle it for us on our behalf as best she could! I don’t know how else to describe her aside from heaven sent! She cares about her patients and her heart shines through while she does her job. She even took the time to come by at her end of shift and to say goodbye because she knew she'd be off work the next 2 days and wouldn’t see us again. despite being in charge of my care for such a short period of time… she made an everlasting impression!
