June 2021 Honoree
Amy Mazur, BSN, RNC-OB
I was just in the hospital to have my first child. Amy Mazur was working the night shift. I was induced and the plan was to have my baby the following afternoon. My labor progressed quickly and Amy was a calm, knowledgeable comfort through the process. She monitored my contractions closely and when she noticed I was struggling she helped me breathe, offered comfort solutions, and let me know she was there. She called for my epidural without being asked when my contractions did not ease for two hours. When I began to feel pressure to push, she immediately called for the doctor and stayed with me throughout pushing practice and delivery. My son was born in less than 7 hours from the beginning of labor beginning to delivery. Amy never left my side and she turned what could be a negative into a positive experience.
Thank you, Amy, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
