Amy's compassion, professionalism, humor, and overall wonderful disposition played a huge factor in getting us through our stay.
I unexpectedly had to deliver my 23-week-old baby boy, we had no idea the journey that was ahead of us. We became guests of the NICU for a total of 8 months and 6 days. In that time, we had many wonderful nurses but one that stuck out for us would be Amy McGlone. In August of 2022 we met Amy for the first time, and we instantly clicked. I knew that we wanted her as a primary right away. Over the next many months, she became a part of our family, not only to our sweet W but to all of us. She was new to learning to care for a baby with a trach, we were new to having a child with one, and we learned together. Amy became a very strong advocate for us, asking the questions we didn't know to ask and helping us be a voice in sometimes uncomfortable situations. Her compassion, professionalism, humor, and overall wonderful disposition played a huge factor in getting us through our stay. My mom has been a nurse for 40+ years, and she always says Amy is the best nurse we could have had! We will forever be grateful for the day she was assigned to our room and became a part of our journey!
