My mother was a patient of Amy's one night, a 55-year old with a brain aneurysm and no hope. Amy stood out from everyone. She cried with us, checked on us frequently, wrapped a blanket around me as I slept with my head on Mom's bed and even let me borrow her phone charger! I was on the unit the night my mother passed, but Amy was off. Writing this letter has been on my mind ever since. As a nurse myself, I know this kind of job can be stressful and sometimes all you need is a thank you to make it all worthwhile. I want to say, "Thank you" to Amy and tell her to please keep doing wonderful things.
