Regardless of the situation, Amy handles it calmly and professionally. Things were no different when a patient’s father complained of nausea in the MRI room. Knowing that he had a history of heart attack, Amy began asking questions and taking an assessment of his condition. Although he tried to downplay his "flu-like" symptoms, she advised his wife to call his cardiologist. After checking his vital signs, Amy called 9-1-1. Paramedics took the father and his wife to St. Joseph's. Amy assured the parents that their children, her patient and two older siblings, would be in good hands at Children's until they completed the MRI. Amy hugged the mother and told her not to worry. After the MRI, Amy explained to the oldest sibling how to drive to St. Joseph's. The mother later called to thank Amy. Her husband's doctors replaced a stent and explained that if he had waited an hour longer to seek medical attention he would likely have suffered a heart attack. Thanks to her attention and quick thinking, Amy likely saved this man's life.
