We had a troubled young patient who had a brand new tracheostomy. The patient wanted to leave against medical advice and Amy Naglack was able to convince him to stay. The patient was sitting on the floor in his room and I witnessed a seven-month pregnant nurse get down on the floor with this patient to explain to him the importance of his stay and how we would help him through it. I was impressed with the demonstration of excellence in patient care with empathy, along with a much-needed hug given to the patient. Amy went above and beyond and is to be commended for her kindness, empathy and dedicated patient-centered care!
