There are not enough words to describe the sacrifice, dedication and effort she puts in to make sure our department runs. Last Friday, December 16, the O.R. had 6 sick calls and an enormous add-on list, including a Gift of Hope (organ donation). Amy took control and had to make the hardest and most difficult decisions to cancel cases and figure out the lack of staff and instruments available for this day to finish. Not only did she stay 5 hours past her shift, but she missed an outing with her three children because she is dedicated and will not leave or abandon this O.R. in a crisis like we were put through that Friday. The amount of work she puts in at work and at home every week goes unnoticed by so many people. She is the backbone to this department and the kindest soul out there. She deserves 100 DAISY Awards!
