Congratulations to our March 2023 Geisinger Community Medical Center DAISY Award Honoree Ms. Amy Pellegrino! Ms. Pellegrino graduated from Penn State University with an associate degree in 2001. Upon graduation, she worked in the Emergency Department until transferring to the EP lab. She has experience working in an outpatient surgery center and a short stint in labor and delivery. She then took some time to raise her children going part-time and returning to Geisinger in 2021 to work in the PACU, where she currently works.

Ms. Pellegrino recently graduated from Penn State with her Bachelors in December 2022. She is currently enrolled at Post university with an anticipated graduation next year. Amy stated, “Geisinger has always been a great place to work; I loved the familiar feeling upon my return. I still have many friends and peers who have stayed within the system. I truly love the PACU and the work I do here. My long-term goal is to teach new nurses at the college level. I want to be able to teach them the basics so they can build a strong foundation. Nursing is my passion, and I would love to share that with students who are interested in this amazing field. Receiving the DAISY Award is truly an honor”.

Ms. Pellegrino was nominated by a patient who stated, “Amy made me feel comfortable and at ease. I would be lost without her.” Congratulations Amy we are so proud to have you as a part of our Team!
