My husband came to the 2nd floor with end-stage lung cancer with a collapsed lung and in obvious pain and breathing distress. Amy was our nurse on Tuesday night, and I have never met a more compassionate, attentive nurse who obviously cared about his comfort and my comfort as well. The AC was not working properly and Amy found fans to keep the air circulating. She retrieved an additional recliner with a pillow and blanket for a friend to stay and assist me that night with my husband. Amy made sure that he got his medications on time to try and keep his pain level at bay. She explained thoroughly each and every time what each medication was for and when the next dose would be coming. During the early morning hours of Wednesday, he awoke with a coughing attack and was completely soaked with sweat. She came in and changed his gown, sheets, got him a cool, wet washcloth and even made him hot tea to help stop the coughing spasms. This sweet lady is definitely an angel from God and shows compassion and care far and beyond just a nurse. She really cares about the patient and family's comfort and care. She is definitely a DAISY Nurse!
