Amy shared her own personal painful loss that was very recent, yet she was there to give us comfort.
Our other was transported to Marion Health on from the Colonial Oaks Rehab Center. She had suddenly taken a turn for the worse and it was unexpected she would need to be taken to the hospital. Upon arriving in the ED, we were quite shaken and confused. To determine what had happened, multiple tests had to be done. This process continued for most of the morning into the afternoon. During this time, Amy was a constant. Amy was there each time Mom had to be taken to another part of the hospital for another test. Each time Amy was very soft with her words and the compassion she shared was comforting. She made sure we had something to drink, chairs to sit down beside our Mom, and that we were as comfortable as we could be. She continued to assure us they were doing all they could do. When the doctor was finally able give us some answers and gave us the prognosis, we knew this was not good. Amy was there! Amy shared her own personal painful loss that was very recent, yet she was there to give us comfort. We knew the end was drawing near for our Mom and we wanted to her to be kept as comfortable as possible until that fatal end. Amy's shift was ending, yet she took a moment to come tell us she was leaving, but arrangements had been made to move her to the ICC. We wanted to thank Amy for her warm heart and caring soul. Our Mom passed the next morning. My brother and I both will not forget the kindness that was shown to us by all the staff we encountered at Marion Health, but Amy definitely is at the top of our list.
