Amy Smith's patient was tearful and upset on her rounds. The patient explained that her deceased daughter's birthday was the following day and it made her sad. There would be no birthday cake or celebration for the daughter. Once Amy got off night shift she purchased a cake and card and brought it back to the day shift nurses to give to the patient when she woke for the day. The patient was touched by this act of kindness. Thank you for being so kind hearted.
