Amy's sweet personality and her ability to bring joy and laughter were so welcoming that I felt it to my core.
I would like to nominate Amy for the Daisy Award for MANY reasons! U of M is very lucky to have her as a nurse. During my 9-day stay at the hospital, Amy went above and beyond every single shift that I had her as my nurse. Her positive attitude, willingness to make sure myself and my husband had everything we could possibly need, and her confidence in herself and her skills as a nurse, gave me the confidence in the fact that I was getting the best care possible. She was leaving on vacation the day before I was discharged, and she took it upon herself to pack up several items I would be needing at home, just to make sure that I had all of the proper supplies. She always communicated my concerns with the nighttime nurses at shift change and made things very clear for them.
She truly cares for her patient's needs and their health. I lost a lot of blood and needed several gown changes and she never once hesitated when I asked if I could get a new one. She always made sure I had clean bedding and was so helpful to my husband and me when I was allowed to shower. Staying at the hospital isn't always the best experience or fun, but when Amy walked in for her shift, her infectious attitude and smile behind her mask, changed my attitude and gave me a positive outlook! I absolutely loved her confidence and positive attitude! U of M is very fortunate to have her as a nurse, as well as any patients that receive her care. She is VERY deserving of this award and so much more.

Amy was a complete blessing for 3 days after my jaw surgery. On day 2, a wonderful, life-long friend of mine lost her fight with breast cancer and passed away much earlier than expected. I couldn't talk, cry, or breathe, but Amy was a savior for me while I was all alone grieving. The loss of my friend and the surgery were both incredibly painful, and Amy truly helped me through. She gave me wonderful advice based on her years of nursing experience and helped me toughen up when needed! Thank you, Amy!

Amy was incredibly caring and patient. She had so much compassion and made me feel so comfortable and light, during a very dark and heavy time in my life. Her calming attitude and voice took away so much of the stress I was facing. I truly believe that my health got substantially better just by having her around. Amy's sweet personality and her ability to bring joy and laughter were so welcoming that I felt it to my core. I could not thank her enough, and when I saw that I could nominate her for this award, I did not hesitate. She deserves as much recognition as she possibly can. Amy is such a great asset to your team!
