My dad was hospitalized earlier this year, and it was one of the hardest times of our lives. My mom was at my dad’s side every day, all day long, and usually by herself. She doesn’t speak English. Amy met with my mom almost daily and whenever requested. She made time to check in on her, despite how busy she was. They spoke Hmong to each other. Amy gave my mom companionship during one of the hardest and loneliest times of her life. She kept her promise and would always call when she said she would. She didn’t just care for a patient; she cared for our community. Amy restored my faith in the healthcare system as a minority who is always underserved. We want to thank her for what she has done for our family.
