Amy sat and talked with me before the doctor and really listened to me. It felt really nice to be heard and to FEEL heard.
Amy helped me from the moment I walked in. She helped me identify people and habits to stay away from. She is a "bulldog" RN and helped with directing me in the right direction. She gets things done. I appreciate everything she did for me. She showed me it's ok to focus on myself, and in order to help others, I need to be feeling 100%. Thank you, Amy. You're truly an amazing nurse.

Amy was my nurse on the day I was discharged. She was so friendly and easy to talk to and very professional. It took longer to get discharged because we just had a great time talking. We both had lived in North Carolina and talked about that and more. Amy is a true healer.

She was very pleasant and really treated me with respect and compassion. She made me smile and was very efficient. I wish more people were like her. All in all, she's great.

Amy went above and beyond in my time of need when I was feeling terrified and alone, making sure I was staying positive and motivated in my time of need - medically and emotionally. Thank you, Amy, for everything you do.

Amy was wonderful with answering my questions and making sure I was cared for properly. She sat and talked with me before the doctor and really listened to me. It felt really nice to be heard and to FEEL heard.

I really felt hopeless when I arrived to the BHU, and then came the BHU staff. Dr. V explained what was going to happen and several nurses and techs started to help me. One nurse really made me feel hopeful. That would be Amy. She talked to me and made me laugh. Thank you, Amy.

Without Amy's in-depth knowledge, I wouldn't have gotten half of the progress I made here. She always was nice and very personable. I felt that Amy was treating me like a friend, not like a patient, but like a friend!!! Amy was the best. Thanks, Amy!

She helped me feel extra special by showing she cares by getting my finger infection under control and just being there when I needed it, providing alternative routes to help my anxiety.

I had some serious health problems when I came to Saint Mary's for 3 or 4 days. I was worried about how it was going to turn out. When I met Amy and talked to her a little bit, I started to feel like someone cared. Not only did we talk and laugh together, but she also performed the medication procedures professionally and with care. And thanks to her, my medical issues no longer exist. Thank you, Amy.

Amy was my first nurse here. She made me feel safe here. She was very understanding and helpful. She was like a friend from the start.

Amy went above and beyond in her role as my nurse. She took time with me to help me get better. She made sure I understood my medication. She helped me get the most I could out of my time in the Behavioral Health Unit. Thank you is not enough! Amy took the time to talk with me individually even when I was not her assigned patient. She made me feel comfortable asking for her help and I felt heard. Thank you, Amy. She deserves to feel as special as I did when I felt heard. Amy shared with me the story of her loss when her mother died. The image of her mother after her autopsy was done stayed with Amy for one year afterward, and she said it was what she saw when she closed her eyes. This personal story gave me hope after finding my father dead earlier this year. It is personal touches like this that prove Amy functions at the very top of her profession as a nurse because she remained human and saw me as a person first before my diagnosis. She is entirely deserving of the DAISY Award. Amy is an example to other nurses. She teaches nursing students and works as a nurse clinically per diem. This work makes her a better educator and further demonstrates why Amy contributes so much to the nursing profession.
