“Ana goes beyond the call of duty. I have never seen a nurse who actually puts patients first. She would be late taking lunch just to make sure me, her patient who was ill, had everything I needed. Some days she looked exhausted from running, but she didn’t’ let that stop her. She asked, ‘are you sure you don’t need me to do something?’. I say no. Anything I needed she would follow up with the doctors to make sure orders had been completed. She would come back and let me know what they said. She didn’t have to do it. When you find a nurse who puts patients first, I feel she should be recognized for patient appreciation, dedication, and hard work!”
