When you find out you have cancer, you need an Ana Moore with you. Because you are scared. I was scared. Don't get me wrong, my faith in God got me through this whole journey. But I know he put Ana in my path to get me through this too. She went above and beyond her standard job requirements to ensure my comfort and happiness. The way she did this was by helping me with my pain and weakness, my inability to keep a thought in my head, the pain that came from my rash, which was all over my body. It burned, itched, and was very painful. When I called the Cancer Center, I had the pleasure of talking to Ana Moore. She listened to me and took the information down as I told her about the rash. I did as she told me to and sent a picture of the rash to her for the doctor. She didn't put me on hold or transfer me to another person. She took care of this herself. She talked to the doctor, and she called me back within an hour of talking to her. She also called me back and checked on me for the next two days. She showed me extraordinary acts of kindness and demonstrated extraordinary compassion. I didn't have to talk to ten different people and tell them before I got the results. Ana was kind to talk to them and got the result for me. She was so compassionate and concerned for my comfort and happiness. Never once did I feel like I was bothering her. She made me feel like she was right there with me. She made me feel like she wanted to help me. She established a special connection with me as a patient because of her kindness, compassion, and concern as a patient. Because of her kindness, compassion, and concern she showed me, my husband was impacted as well. She made a significant positive impact on me and my husband. Even though she didn't speak to him, he saw the result of her care for me.

She is an extraordinary caregiver. She showed me that my happiness was important to her. She even helped me with my FMLA papers and getting them signed/filled out by the doctor in a timely manner and faxed them back to Matrix for me. She didn't have to do that. Really, all I had to do was call Ana and tell her what I needed, and she took care of it no matter what it was. Maybe it was because of the inability to keep a complete thought in my head. But whatever the reason, Ana helped me. I didn't feel like I was alone in this. She made me feel that she was right there with me. She did for me what I couldn't do myself. She just wanted me to feel better and not worry about paperwork or talking to anybody else. She said things like "sorry you feel bad"  and "I hope you feel better soon." She hated that I was going through this and wished she could do more for me. I am so blessed that she had my back, that she was there to help me through this journey.

Thank you, Ana Moore. We need more nurses like you. I also noticed that Ana didn't just do these things because of me. Yes, she made me feel special, but she did all these kind things to other patients, too. I saw her interact with other patients, her kindness, compassion she gives every day. She truly cares about people/patients. She loves what she does, and it shows in her care for her patient/family members. Thanks again, Ana Moore.
