During my stay for the delivery of my baby, as all new parents are, I was anxious and scared of the uncertainty of a “normal delivery.” Immediately upon meeting Ana Sofia, my husband and I felt a sense of security and calm that we now realize came to us at the perfect time in our labor process. It was quickly apparent that Ana Sofia is a nurse who has perfected her craft. Ana Sofia did a thorough assessment, followed up with the physician and pharmacist on shift, reviewed our birth plan and all of the orders from my stay, thoughtfully explained the whole process, and answered all of our questions with intellect and grace.

I planned to labor without an epidural, however, in the middle of the night my pain increased suddenly and exponentially. I called Ana Sofia into the room and let her know that I would like an epidural after all. Immediately she notified the nurse anesthetist and I was quickly set up for the procedure. Her precision and thoughtfulness in all of her actions set her apart and made her a memorable nurse. It gave me comfort that Ana Sofia seemed to read the minds of the doctors, nurse anesthetist, and my husband and me while preparing and assisting in all of the procedures that come with delivery. I appreciate Ana Sofia’s great attention to detail and ability to charismatically and professionally tackle any situation which only a nurse with great experience and a true passion for nursing can epitomize.
