We stayed at the inpatient care facility for 10 days. During this time, we were fortunate to have many amazing RNs and CNAs. However, Ana stood out as our favorite. She cared for my mother for 3 nights while she was battling terminal stage 4 stomach cancer. Despite how terribly difficult this situation was for my mother and family, Ana showed constant and consistent care and compassion for us all. I was especially impressed with the thoughtfulness she gave during each visit. Every time she gave my mother a medicine, she explained each step in a clear and accessible way. She also went out of her way to make my mother comfortable. For example, on the first night with her, she found a waffle mattress and TED stockings to help ease her soreness and improved blood flow. She showed us how to use each of these, which allowed us to continue to support my mother even when Ana was not there. We all appreciated her incredibly kind and calm demeanor. At such a stressful time, this was critical for putting us at ease. Ana is a true DAISY Nurse.
