From day one when I knew I was pregnant, it was a smooth sailing journey. Then all of a sudden my 36-week mark I felt that something is not right. So I called my OB Doctor and she instructed me to go to the ER and do CTG. My OB said that the Heartbeat of my baby is okay, however, the Nurse said that there are contractions already so they requested U/S. That result was heartbreaking and I really did not expect it. U/S showed a congenital anomaly for my baby. My ears became deaf and my heart stopped at the painful news, I was trying to collect answers to all the questions in my mind. I didn’t know how to process the bad news. Emergency C/S was about to be done. My husband was told that our baby’s condition is rare and only a few survive. My Doctor said that they will do their best to finish the procedure successfully. I entrusted everything to God and I hold on to my faith that He will keep my baby safe and that miracle will have happened. After the C/S was done, I was in the recovery room, Doctor said that my baby is active and not cyanotic. I was really thankful to God for his love for giving us the best Doctors and Nurses for the survival of our baby. After a day, I was able to visit my baby but was not able to hold her because she has many contraptions attached: Chest tube, NGT, and ventilator machine. I felt relieved as I observed that all NICU nurses were very caring to our baby, I saw how they attended to my baby’s needs. They are so compassionate. Among them, Nurse Analyn was so compassionate and encouraging she keeps on telling us to pray and that they’ll do their best. She also keeps on updating us about our baby’s condition with a tone of voice that is calming and kind. Nurse Analyn left a mark on my baby’s care, she always gives words that are calming me and making me at peace. It was a tough journey being in the hospital. I cannot imagine the pain and emotional struggles we have been through. We almost lost hope. I believe that miracle happened and started when nurse Analyn found out that there were contractions already in my CTG result which gave the team to do emergency C/S. God never fails to allow miracles to happen especially when He sent such an angel like Nurse Analyn.
