The first night our son was in the NICU, Andrea was originally my nurse. However, after speaking with us, she shifted over to NICU to keep an eye on our son herself. She was with him the whole first night there and kept us posted on how he was doing.
When we saw her the next day, she said she'd been praying for him and hoping that he was going to recover quickly. This meant so much to us because it made it clear that being a nurse isn't just a job for Andrea; it's a calling. We knew he was not only safe in her care but that he was in the most capable hands. From all of our conversations with her, it was apparent that she loves what she does and that she's an excellent nurse.
We were blessed to have her as our son's nurse a number of times, and each time, she entered the room and completely calmed us down. She made us laugh, helped us focus on the positives, and was incredibly informative when we didn't understand something. Andrea was loving towards our son, patient towards me as I learned to breastfeed, and supportive in a way that we will never forget.
