I came to the hospital very nervous about being induced and Andrea assured me that the Pitocin would be increased at a very slow rate. During my labor, she was very attentive, made sure that any questions were answered, and made sure she explained everything so that both my husband and I could understand. As I was getting ready to start pushing I had a panic attack and Andrea just kept talking in a calm, reassuring voice until I calmed down. She never left my side until my daughter was delivered. Later when we were ready to move to our room, she took great care in cleaning me up, helped my husband get our belongings to our room, and then offered to keep the baby so we could both take a short nap since we had been up all night. I had been very nervous switching doctors and hospitals for our final baby, but Andrea made it all worth it. She listened to my fears upon arrival and made sure that not only to make sure to validate them but helped me through one of the most vulnerable times in my life. I don't even know if she realized I was having a panic attack but the care and calm she provided in that moment allowed me to regain control and calm down so that my daughter could be born.
