Although I know my daughter was very pleased with her care, I can only speak to what I saw myself. I am ICU trained and have been working as an RN for over 35 years; what I saw was impressive. I am not writing to you because this was a run of the mill, uncomplicated delivery but I am writing to you because we encountered multiple issues and we still had a healthy baby and mother.
My daughter was in labor and, suffice it to say, things got complicated. Not only did Andrea have an exemplary nursing skillset but, perhaps just as important, she comforted my daughter through a difficult delivery/postpartum period. Andrea was always a step ahead of every potential complication that could have occurred before it actually happened, and some of them did. She demonstrated compassion, warmth, and understanding which was invaluable to my daughter's understanding of the situation and made a very positive impact on how she processed the complications she and her newborn had.
In addition to all of this, as my daughter was being rolled to the OR after her delivery, Andrea was holding one of her hands while verbally comforting her as the Doctor was holding her other hand.
