In short, Andrea is the embodiment of excellence and exceeding the standard.
Our daughter had been at CS Mott for several stays: one six-and-a-half-month stay, two three-week stays, and this time, three days. She has a very long list of medical diagnoses, has been very unpredictable, and at times extremely difficult in the demand her care puts on staff.
Though we have had many great nurses over our daughter’s eight months total stay, we have had a few who could not handle the high demands of her care. We’ve also had a few exceptional nurses, with Andrea being a standout.
Andrea adores our daughter, going above and beyond in her care. She adjusts her schedule to ensure she is on while our daughter is here. When Andrea is on but doesn’t have our daughter, she stops by checking on the nurse who has her, knowing how difficult her care can be.
Andrea took it upon herself to write a detailed care plan for other nurses to follow, helping to ensure her many unique needs are met. She helped celebrate our daughter’s six-month birthday here on floor ten, participating in decorating her room and door.
Andrea dressed her in a Christmas outfit, complete with bows in her hair, ensuring she was ready for us when we arrived in the afternoon. Also on Christmas Day, we had a mishap on our way to the hospital in which my wife got her hand rather skinned up, and our other daughter had her arm and hand skinned up. Andrea helped bandage them both up and got the doctor who was on staff to come look at our other daughter’s arm when she continued to complain it hurt very badly. The doctor determined it was likely broken and that we needed to head down to the ER.
Andrea goes above and beyond what we expect for updates when we are not able to be at the hospital. We know our daughter is in the best hands with Andrea.
In short, Andrea is the embodiment of excellence and exceeding the standard. As a retired Non-Commissioned Officer in the Army, with very little civilian employment history, I can best relate her performance to the expectations I held my soldiers to in an elite and highly demanding unit. If she were one of my soldiers, her performance would be met with a recommendation for an Army Achievement Medal at a minimum.
My wife and I are incredibly grateful for the care and support Andrea has given.
