I would like to nominate Andie in the ED for the DAISY Award. She is exceptionally knowledgeable and loves to teach new nurses in the area. She took care of my son when he was injured. Her caring and compassion were so amazing. She treated my son like he was her own. She talked him through his shot and his IV so he was calm and relaxed. Her caring carried through to her teaching him what to do when he got home. She did not know that I was a staff member in another area, so if this is the way she treats all of her patients I believe she is overwhelmingly deserving of the most caring nurse of the year award. If I were to get sick or injured I would hope that she was at my side or overseeing who was taking care of me. She is sharp, caring, and the most patient person on the planet.
