Andrea is an AMAZING nurse! My sister gave birth to her first child at UWMC. My sister has a lot of anxiety surrounding hospitals, so she was not happy when her attempted home birth veered in a direction that required transfer to the hospital. Andrea was her nurse for the majority of the labor experience at UWMC. Andrea went above and beyond throughout the whole process! She had a calming presence for my sister. She took the time to explain things to her gently and compassionately while also advocating for her wishes throughout the whole process.
All members of our family who were present also felt comforted by Andrea's presence. She even came to check on my sister the day after the birth when she was recovering in a different unit.
Throughout the whole experience, we all felt extremely confident in Andrea's knowledge, ability, awareness,and compassion. She is a superstar! Words cannot fully express our family's gratitude for this superb nurse!
