She is definitely in the right career, as God has blessed Parkview with her, and all her patients get to experience her gift of selflessness, caring, nurturing, and her gift of being there for mothers.
I had the privilege of having Nurse Andrea two times while pregnant with my son. The first visit, I was admitted for the day with the flu, and Andrea went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of and comfortable. She stayed by my side while I was getting sick, brought me crackers, drinks, tissues without me even having to ask, and made sure I was taken care of and monitored my baby's heart rate constantly. I told her at the end of my visit that I would pray to have her as my nurse for my delivery, and I thanked God as soon as I saw her walk in that morning of my induction. She helped get me comfortable and prepared me for the day ahead, thoroughly explained what medicines I'd be given and my plan of care, and closely monitored my progress as labor continued. By the time my water broke Andrea didn't leave my room, immediately helped me to my bed, instructed me what to do to quickly ease my pain as we both realized I was not going to have time for an epidural. She coached me through the entire process, and I truly thank God she was there to help me realize I could do it. She said things such as "you've got this; you're doing so great. And my favorite, "this is what our bodies can do, you're so strong." She was truly wonderful and is especially deserving of this award. As a mother of 4 now, I'll have never had such a wonderful experience and bonded so much with a caring stranger. She is definitely in the right career, as God has blessed Parkview with her, and all her patients get to experience her gift of selflessness, caring, nurturing, and her gift of being there for mothers. Thank you, nurse Andrea. From my entire family, truly, we all wish you the very best in your life and career.
