As a person who works in the healthcare field, it can be hard to become a patient. I recently had an experience as a patient that rocked me to my core. I was told Friday that indeed I was having a miscarriage. My doctor and I had discussed my options and decided to see what Mother Nature would do.
While returning back home from a weekend vacation everything changed. I was losing blood quickly in the car, so we ended up going straight to the Sanford Mayville ER where my friend and colleague Andrea was there to greet me. I was scared, embarrassed, and emotionally upset about everything that was happening around me and she knew exactly how I was feeling. At that moment when I was breaking down emotionally, she gave me the biggest hug to help calm me down and that simple gesture gave me the comfort I needed. She got back to her job and explained everything that was going to happen as far as my care there, and what would happen with the care I was going to have to receive soon thereafter.
Andrea not only was very professional but very knowledgeable about what needed to happen. I cannot thank her enough for being my support and nurse during that time. Even after everything that had occurred, and I had returned to work she wanted to make sure I was doing okay. I felt I could talk to her and she understood and was a listening ear. I cannot thank her and the rest of the staff that assisted me that day enough, I am forever grateful.
