My daughter L had ear tube insertions and an EGD scheduled on her 3rd birthday! She had been very upset all day due to not being able to drink or eat, then sitting in the hospital for hours. Needless to say, she wasn’t having the best birthday. The second Andrea walked in, I knew she was a special person by how she connected with L. She was professional, caring, flexible, and so calming. The best part: after everything, we were getting ready to leave, she rounded up the Day Surgery staff, they came to all sing L Happy Birthday! With a certificate, a cupcake, and an Elsa doll (L told Andrea she was having a Frozen birthday party the next day). I’m telling you, the look on L’s face was priceless. I almost cried; how sweet and thoughtful to make this little girl’s day, an even better birthday than it started out to be. L still hugs Elsa and tells everyone “It’s from my nurse”. I hope this story warms your heart like it still does ours! Thank you!
